Frequently Asked Questions

  • The terms therapy and counseling are used interchangeably here and they refer to a process of helping you work through challenges and problems you are facing in your life as well as learn new skills to develop and strengthen emotional and mental health. Coaching is more focused on the process of creating something you want for your life. I bring all of my knowledge, skills, and expertise to each of my sessions in a fluid process that serves you in whatever way you most need.

  • I offer a variety of ways to work with me including 50 minutes sessions, 80 minute sessions, and concentrated 2 ½ day deep dives. During the initial session we will get crystal clear on what you want from our time together and then chart the best route for you to get there, taking into consideration your particular challenges, needs, lifestyle, personality, and goals. Some people do much better with consistent, weekly sessions while others benefit more from longer bi-monthly sessions or concentrated chunks of time and in between space. I tailor everything to what is best for YOU.

  • The only one that can answer that question is you, but I do offer the free consultation as a way to figure that out for yourself. Trust your gut

  • That really depends on a lot of factors, including your specific goals and needs, but 6-10 months is an average time span. Sometimes it can take longer if you’ve been ignoring, repressing, or avoiding things for a while or you have some trauma or longstanding habits to change. I work exclusively with people who are serious and ready to change their life in a big way. Therapy & Coaching are an investment that pays big dividends, but it isn’t a quick fix solution. Having said, that I do always hold the intention of helping you reach your goals as quickly as possible.

  • There are so many benefits from this work. Sometimes having someone that listens, understands, and allows you to have a voice is incredibly beneficial. Other times just being able to get some things “off your chest” can bring relief and even new insights. Therapy/Coaching can give you the space to find a fresh perspective on a difficult problem, it can lead you to solutions that have eluded you, and it can help you uncover non-productive habits and patterns that have been unknowingly limiting you. Our work together will help you develop greater self-awareness, improve your relationships, and at the end of the day can help you become happier and more comfortable in your own skin.

In addition to the above general benefits that I think any good helping professional will provide, here is a list of the top 5 benefits I see that are specific to my own particular style of work.

    1. Greater capacity to engage in life with more flow and less will power or need to control things.

    2. An empowered relationship with your emotions as you learn how to listen to them, understand them, and work with them instead of against them

    3. Increased trust in yourself and the ability to clear through self-doubt and insecurity when they arise. Also, clearer access to your own discernment and wisdom.

    4. Feeling less frantic and more clear, calm, and focused

    5. More clarity, direction, and momentum in those areas you were feeling stuck.

  • Confidentiality is one of the greatest advantages of working with me. For many people, it is the only safe, non-judgmental, and confidential place where they can feel completely at ease to talk about absolutely anything.

There are a few exceptions that are required by law and we will go over them in our first meeting.

  • The consultation is a way to get a feel for me and ask any questions you may have before you make the decision to begin working with me. It is a great ice breaker to help you get comfortable with this space and process and make sure you feel like I’m the right fit for you.

  • I am an out of network provider and DO NOT bill insurance. However, I can provide you a superbill, an invoice summary of sessions, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Contact your insurance provider directly for more information.

    Please be advised:

1.All insurance companies require a mental disorder diagnosis

    2. Your insurance company may request a copy of our session notes

    3. Your insurance company may decline your request for reimbursement

    4. Your insurance company may dictate the number of sessions allowed and even the length of the individual sessions

    5. Insurance processing has complete access to it; literally the exact opposite of confidentiality.

    6. A mental disorder diagnosis will become a part of your permanent health record. It has the potential to work against you when attempting to get certain insurances, apply for certain licenses, or in your military or business career, as anyone who has a "legitimate" reason to access the medical database can view your records.

  • I charge $250 for a 50-minute session. All other time increments are prorated accordingly.

The initial intake session is 1 hour 20 minutes and costs $375.

I accept all major credit cards including those associated with your flex or health care savings account.

Payment is due at time of service.

  • Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance to avoid being charged for the full session fee.
